Three children (17, 12, 11), two dogs, two cats, and two reptiles!!! I am an animal lover...obviously. My dog, Bonquiqui, is my baby and I love her just as much as I love my kids...maybe a tad more. ;)
I have taught Algebra I and II as well as Geometry and MS Studies over my career at Amory High School and New Hope Middle School. Getting to talk to students is the best part of teaching. I enjoy getting to know someone new and learning so much more from them than they do me. I use math to teach life skills, especially perseverance. My number one support is Jesus who is with me every day, leading me, guiding me, helping those I can, and giving me the joy and strength to thrive in order to make my students' lives meaningful by showing a little kindness each day. I am not your "normal" teacher because, in my mind, I am still a kid. Joking, laughing, and cutting up is just about my favorite part of my job but don't get me won't, I expect a lot from my students and they know that work and play are simultaneous. "Kids can't learn from teachers they don't like". Rita Pierson
