English III Assignments March 25-27:

Be creative with these. Don't stress over them. This is to get you back in the flow in a fun way. I can't wait to read these when we get back. Or maybe even let some of you sing your songs before you analyze them!

Wednesday, March 25th - In a well-organized response, including an opening and closing statement, describe how "social distancing" has impacted your life in a positive way and in a negative way. Explain each and end your writing by explaining which you think will have the biggest affect on you in the long run and why.

Thursday, March 26th - Think of the last movie you saw. Write a review of it. Open with the title of the movie you watched and who starred in it. Use descriptive details to explain what you did or didn't like about this movie. Back up your opinion with quotes, scenes, actors/actresses from the movie that affected you.

Friday, March 27th - Write a song lyric analysis. Pick one of your favorite songs to analyze. Identify word meaning and figurative language used. (They all use figurative language.) Explain what you think the songwriter is trying to say, why he/she wrote the song, who are they trying to reach with their words, etc. Back up your analysis with lyrics from the song.
