SREB Literacy and English IV

NOVEL SELECTION: Parents, we are currently in the process of getting new, electronic textbooks through StudySync. Because of this, please do not purchase novels until told to do so.

If you are in SREB Literacy, all novels may be supplied and will be a completely different set of readings than English IV. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we transition to a new curriculum.

Personal Information

Hi, everyone! My name is Jacki Barnett, and this is my ninth year of teaching at Lewisburg High School and my fifteenth year of teaching high school English in Desoto County. Prior to my time at Lewisburg High School, I taught six years at Center Hill High School. Every year, I enjoy getting to meet new students. My ultimate goal for these students is that they would become informed readers and clear writers. Teaching high school English has been a calling for me, and it is something I knew I wanted to do since I was a high school junior.

On a more personal note, my husband, Justin, and I have been married for ten years. He's pretty much my absolute opposite (introverted, mathematically minded, and disliker of coffee/caramel combinations), and we have two daughters (Zoe-7 and Frankie-4). During my down-time, I love to drink coffee, read young adult novels I can recommend to students, make polymer clay earrings, quilt, and discuss anything from Star Wars to current events.

I look forward to getting to know all of you more personally, and I do hope that if you have any concerns, you will contact me, via the link at the top.
