Hi, everyone! My name is Jacki Barnett, and this is my eighth year of teaching at Lewisburg High School and my fourteenth year of teaching high school English in Desoto County. Prior to my time at Lewisburg High School, I taught six years at Center Hill High School. Every year, I enjoy getting to meet new students. My ultimate goal for these students is that they would become informed readers and clear writers. Teaching high school English has been a calling for me, and it is something I knew I wanted to do since I was a high school junior.
On a more personal note, my husband, Justin, and I have been married for close to ten years. He's pretty much my absolute opposite (introverted, mathematically minded, and disliker of coffee/caramel combinations), and we have two daughters (Zoe-6 and Frankie-3). My love for my girls has made me a better, more compassionate teacher and human being. During my down-time, I love to drink coffee, read young adult novels I can recommend to students, quilt, and discuss anything from Star Wars to current events.
I look forward to getting to know all of you more personally, and I do hope that if you have any concerns, you will contact me, via the link at the top.
